What’s UpNext in Manhattan? I’ll Tell You.
UpNext is the website I wanted to build but never had the patience to follow through on. Simply put, your visual guide of where to go and what to do in Manhattan, with a dash of social networking for good measure. A perfect companion to Shecky’s and Citysearch when planning your night out on the town.
When you first visit the site, you’ll be presented with the latest events - new bars, new restaurants, new stores - if it’s new, you’ll probably find it there. From there, you can select an individual listing for more details and the map will zoom in to this location.
It’s a pretty slick interface, allowing you to zoom and rotate your way through a 3d representation of the island of Manhattan. You can filter by nightlife, restaurants, shopping, hotels and more - walking the virtual streets to see what lies around the corner of the neighborhood you’ll be partying in tonight.
If you decide to register (and why wouldn’t you, it’s free!) you can make note of places you’ve been, places you’ve been and enjoyed yourself (aka favorites) and post your own reviews. You can also add friends and I imagine see what places they have been to. Seeing as I don’t have any friends on UpNext yet, I can neither confirm nor deny this fact.

Hey Danny, thanks for the comment. One thing that would be a great addition to UpNext is the ability to deep link directly to a bar, restaurant or other venue. I know I would utilize this option in any posts that featured nightlife in Manhattan.
