It’s the final countdown!

Oh shit, is this thing on? Well folks, it’s the last week of dodgeball before the playoffs and the competition is fierce. Pepe’s Cheese Bitches went on a tear last week, winning five of their six games and moving into a three-way (all-right!) tie for third place.

Tonight the Bitches face off against Cojones Grandes at 6:15pm. A victory in this match could move them into sole possession of third place, setting them up for a better match-up in the playoffs.

Pepe’s Cheese Bitches second match comes against Market Axess at 6:45pm. Market Axess is all but out of the playoff race, so with any luck they should prove little challenge for the Bitches.

If reading about dodgeball has given you the bug to actually play, swing on over to the New York City Social Sports Club site and sign up for the Spring season.

One more thing, if you’re tired of watching dodgeball clips with shitty video quality, check out the Dodgeball segment on SportsNet NY’s Street Games. Thank you SNY, for allowing the world to watch Pepe’s Cheese Bitches face off against this season’s current number one team McBalls in marginally better video quality.

Check back soon for the results of tonight’s games. Oh, and The Final Countdown by Europe rocks. They should totally add that shit to Rock Band.

[UPDATE]

Things did not go as planned in the final week of the dodgeball regular season. After falling behind to Cojones Grandes 0-1 in the first match, Pepe’s Cheese Bitches staged an amazing comeback and won the match.

They went into the second match vs Market Axess confident that they would take third place with a win. What the Bitches didn’t anticipate was the hunger Market Axess would have on the court. With a record of 4-6 they had a slim chance to make the top half of the standings, which would clinch them a spot in the playoffs. Market Axess needed to win both matches, and after splitting the first two games of the series they did just that.

The standings tallied, Pepe’s Cheese Bitches find themselves tied for fourth with Cojones Grandes. They will face off next week in the first round of the playoffs. Market Axess did not make the playoffs.
